Ushindi kwa Uganda
Ushindi kwa Uganda which translates to “Victory for Uganda” was built to crowd source and map reports of election-related violence prior to, during and beyond Uganda’s 2016 general election. The reports were aggregated from twitter, sms, email and web submissions through the website or ushahidi android and IOS apps.
Ushindi kwa Uganda also played the part of an early warning system that alerted subscribers of any violence reported in a radius of 20-100 kilometers from their location. The alerts came in by SMS and Email. This would ensure the public stays away from these areas.
Ushindi kwa Uganda has over 3000 monthly users from all over the world: Academia, Civil Society and the General Public.
